A woman today asked me: “Are you expecting your third child?” and I had to answer…”No I’m not pregnant with my third child…I’m still recovering form my son’s birth whom is now 8 months
I have never been one of those women able to gain only few pounds during pregnancy, instead I usually gain two to three times more than recommended. It happened with my first one and happened again with my second one…notwithstanding the fact that I was for more careful with my diet! To be fair, I had two very big boys, but still my weight gain was far too much.
It took me around 18 months after the birth of my first son Max to get back into shape, but with Alex I’m afraid it will take much longer. The main difference is that I don’t move and walk nearly enough as I did a few years ago…I will have to find the time to do some exercise 🙂 Mind you, I’m not a Gym person, nor a fanatic of diets…but I’m a supporter of healthy eating and gentle exercise.
The best type of exercise for me is to walk…really long and speedy walks, preferably at the park. It was relatively easy to do it with my first child, but now managing the boys’ schedule is certainly trickier. However this will give me the opportunity to spend more time with my youngest one while Max will be in Nursery.
I have really enjoyed being pregnant and found my pregnancies to be one of the most beautiful times in my life. The only thing I don’t like of course is the extra baggage I am left with. I have now joint a couple of other mums and together we are doing some targeted exercise under the supervision of a personal trainer … Only time will tell what the final outcome will be…
